At Kärret® we make clothes for doers, people like ourselves. Clothes that are comfortable and yet good looking. Clothes that can withstand wear and tear for a long time. Clothes often inspired by classic garments from the past.
We draw inspiration from classic workwear and outdoor garments. Garments shaped by function, where every detail has a purpose. Durable materials, spacious pockets, reinforcements where needed, and constructions designed to last a long time. Simple things that work.
No unnecessary features. Quite large pockets.
The clothes are made in Sweden, Portugal and Latvia by producers with long experience in sewing quality fabrics. We work on a small scale and without seasonal collections, which means that we buy in smaller volumes and constantly improve what we have instead of making new for each season.
The fit could be slightly improved. A seam could be reinforced. A pocket could be moved a few centimeters. A material could be replaced. In this way, garments can evolve over time instead of being replaced by something new just because a new season begins.
Our clothes are sewn in Sweden, Portugal, and Latvia by manufacturers with extensive experience in working with heavier materials and garments that are designed for durability.
We choose materials with care. Importing waxed duck fabric from Scotland, one of the world's most durable fabrics. We use boiled wool (a natural material) for its ability to keep you warm and dry. For our fleece garments, we use 100% recycled polyester for its super soft feel. We also knit our own Kärret Heavy Weight© Jersey fabric in Marbäck from 100% cotton for our own softwear collection.
For our most durable garments, we use, among other materials, heavy-duty waxed cotton canvas from Scotland. We work with boiled wool for its natural ability to insulate and withstand weather, and with recycled polyester in our fleece garments for warmth, softness, and functionality.
We believe in good materials, well-thought-out features, and garments that don't need to be delicate to be stylish.
